We are pleased to announce that Mind, Edwards Trust and Sport in Mind will be the new Moore Charities of the Year. The partnership with all three charities will cover the 18 months effective from 1 May 2018.
The London office will partner with Mind, a mental health charity whose motto is ‘not to give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect’.
The Birmingham office will be working with The Edward’s Trust. A children’s charity that offers a holistic bereavement care service to young people following the death of a parent, carer or sibling.
Sport in Mind, which will partner with our Reading office, delivers free sport and physical activity sessions to help people experiencing mental health issues. Sessions are delivered by qualified coaches and volunteers and are open to all abilities, with the aim of ‘having fun in a safe and supported environment’.
All three charities were chosen as the Moore’ Charities of the Year by staff and partners through a nominations and voting process during 2018 after mental health was selected as the charity partner theme.
Mental health refers to a broad range of conditions affecting thoughts, behaviours and moods. One in four people in any given year suffer from a mental health condition and the greatest cause for men under 35 is suicide.
Paul Clark, member of the Corporate Social Responsibility team at Moore, comments: “It’s an extremely worthwhile cause which is close to people as it effects the lives of many. I am really excited about our partnerships with all three charities and look forward to working with as many staff as possible as well as raising as much as we can. We’re working on a number of fundraising ideas across London, Birmingham and Reading. We encourage our staff to get involved and bring forward ideas of how we can work even closer together.”

Their support will allow us to continue to be there for people who need it, when they need it the most and to make sure that everyone with a mental health problem gets the support and respect they deserve. Their contribution will provide vital support for people, including the Mind Infoline, our advice services and the campaigning Mind does to secure a better deal for the one in four of us who experience a mental health problem every year.”
