It has come to our attention that some limited companies have received fraudulent payment requests purportedly from Companies House. These requests ask for payment for a web filing service.
Please be aware that these requests are
NOT legitimate and are part of a scam targeting businesses like yours. Companies House does
NOT request payments for web filing services in this manner.
To safeguard yourself and your company, please adhere to the following precautions:
- Before making any payments or providing any sensitive information, always verify the authenticity of the request. Contact Companies House directly or your usual Moore advisor through official channels to confirm the legitimacy of any payment requests.
- Ensure that all members of your team are aware of this scam and are trained to recognise and respond to fraudulent attempts.
- If you receive any suspicious emails, phone calls, or messages claiming to be from Companies House or any other official entity, report them to the appropriate authorities immediately.
