Companies House to restart voluntary strike off process

Companies House to restart voluntary strike off process

April Foster

Companies House has announced that it will be restarting the voluntary strike off process from 10 September 2020 to dissolve companies that have applied for dissolution.

Voluntary strike off action was suspended in March 2020 as a response to the coronavirus crisis.

If you’ve filed a DS01 application to strike off your company, Companies House will start the process of removing your company from the register on 10 September 2020.

When voluntary strike off action restarts from 10 September - if there are no objections to dissolution and the two month period from the publication of the Gazette notice has expired, your company will be struck off shortly afterwards.

Applications for dissolution made on or after 10 July 2020 are not affected – these will proceed as normal.

Compulsory strike offs

The compulsory strike off process is still paused.  Companies House has said it will continue to review this on a monthly basis.
