QuickBooks Desktop
QuickBooks announced last year that QuickBooks Desktop will be discontinued in the UK.
The discontinuation will mean that there will not be a 2022 edition and they will be ending their full support for the product on 31 January 2023. The product is being discontinued as it is not capable of being readily updated by QuickBooks for MTD changes, the evolving open banking data standards and changing VAT reporting following Brexit.
This means that from midnight on 31 January 2023, you will not be able to access QuickBooks Desktop (including to make postings) or to access your data and you will need to find an alternative solution prior to this date.
The next steps
Users that wish to continue with QuickBooks products will be able to migrate onto
QuickBooks Online. The Online version is an all-in-one accounting software that allows you to automate your bookkeeping, track your sales tax and payroll tax and saves you time when managing your accounts. However, it is worth noting that not all the features available in the Desktop version are available in the Online version and may need to consider alternative solutions.
Moore (South) are
certified pro-advisers with QuickBooks, for information on using Quickbooks, please contact us.
Alternatively if you would like to take care of the migration process yourself you can find more information on the
QuickBooks Hub.
For more information about using QuickBooks or for assistance with the migration process, please contact your local
Moore (South) adviser.
And if QuickBooks Online is not the right solution for you then we can help to identify a better solution for you. Either way, you will need to plan sufficient time for a successful transition
