Grants available for Northamptonshire businesses

There are a number of local funding opportunities available which may be of interest to small and medium sized businesses in Northamptonshire. 

For rural businesses
The LEADER programme currently has grants of between £5,000 and £180,000 available locally for small and medium sized rural businesses in the North and West Northamptonshire area.
LEADER is designed to support rural businesses to create jobs and support the rural economy, and as such, has funding available for farmers, tourism projects, community groups and other rurally based enterprises including village shops, pubs, childcare providers and local fayres and festivals.

The EAFRD Growth Programme offers grants from £35,000 to £170,000 to businesses who are carrying out projects to create jobs or bring more money into the rural economy.  This includes:  business development projects that will support growth in micro and small businesses (including social enterprises) in rural areas as well as farming businesses looking to diversify into non-agricultural activities; food processing projects and rural tourism.

The closing date for EAFRD funding applications is 31st January 2018.

For all Northamptonshire Businesses
The Northamptonshire Growth Hub provides training, advice and funding to both new and growing businesses.  Its Innovate Northamptonshire project aims to promote research and innovation within the small and medium sized enterprises across the county with particular focus on the creative, technology and agri-tech sectors.  Its Ready2Grow programme helps SME’s apply for funding, dependent on their specific needs and stage of business development.
