Sally leads the Audit Quality, Risk and Technical (AQRT) team at Moore UK member firm Johnston Carmichael in delivering quality and risk-focused support and solutions to the Audit Business Line across all of our sectors. Her experience working within the Public Interest and Listed company space enables her to steer our audit teams through the enhanced regulatory requirements and scrutiny these engagements entail. Before joining Johnston Carmichael in January 2022, Sally spent the previous 11 years in the central technical team at a Tier 1 Firm where she worked in both the financial reporting and audit technical teams, developing her in-depth knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS as well as Auditing and Professional Standards.Sally was also appointed to the ICAS Regulation Board at 1 June 2024. This is a voluntary role, and the Board is responsible for setting ICAS’ regulatory policy and strategy, upholding professional standards, and overseeing the discharge of regulatory functions.Having been born in Zambia, Africa is in Sally’s soul and she gets back there whenever she can – her favourite place in the world being the Lower Zambezi. However her most memorable African experience is being charged by a silverback gorilla while trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda.Away from work Sally can be found out in the country trying to wear out her three very energetic sprocker spaniels who have an unfailing ability to find a muddy puddle on every walk.
